This morning I woke up at 4 a.m. to get the flight to Charlotte, and then to Costa Rica. Today will probably have been my worst day because I hate planes. My ears were popping, but on the second flight from Charlotte to Costa Rica, I sat by myself by the window and it was really scary, but there was a Columbian couple who was very nice. When we got to Costa Rica, I did not know what to expect but it was very hot. I don’t know whether it just has not hit me yet or if I am just used to being around different cultures, but I do not feel like I’m in a new country. I think I need to adapt to the culture. The most shocking thing to me while walking around the city was how friendly and open the people were to us. Our first meal was delicious! My most memorable experience today was walking around and taking in the culture and the different people. It’s very different to see so many different types of people in one place, and I think it is a nice change to see other than in Pittsburgh.
